How I Work

What can you expect when we work together?
In project management the most expensive thing is uncertainty. That is why my way of working rests on three principles: what will be done is written down, progress is visible, and problems are discussed before they grow. Below is how a project moves with me, step by step.
1. Intro call
I listen to your goal, your users, your existing systems and any constraints (time, budget, regulation, team). This is not a sales pitch; it is a conversation to understand what the work really is. If your project is not a good fit for me, I will say so plainly.
2. Written scope and plan
What we discussed is written up as scope, stages, deliverables, acceptance criteria and risks. Items outside the scope are listed too. That reduces later "I thought this was included" disagreements.
3. Regular communication
At the start we agree the communication rhythm together — for example a weekly status note and a short demo at the end of each stage. I use messaging for quick questions and e-mail for decisions that need a record. I work remotely, including with teams across time zones: I lean on written, recorded communication, a shared task board and meeting times that respect every time zone involved. Where an in-person meeting is needed, we plan it.
4. Staged delivery and change management
I break the work into small pieces; each is delivered as a working result. When a new request arrives I state its effect on schedule and budget, and add it to the plan once you approve. Scope does not swell slowly; every change is a conscious decision.
5. Handover
Handover goes through the acceptance criteria. Usage guidance, technical documentation and, if needed, a short knowledge transfer to your team are provided, so the work does not depend on one person.
6. Maintenance and sustainability
A product that has gone live needs updates, security and improvement. We plan the maintenance scope together before handover.
Security and confidentiality
Out of habit from my information-security training (ISO/IEC 27001:2022 lead auditor training, cybersecurity and ethical-hacker courses), I settle access rights, data sharing and backups at the start of the project.
Working models
As an independent professional I can work project by project or as fixed-term consulting, and I am open to longer-term remote roles. If you have a different model in mind, I will listen and we will choose the right one together. See the FAQ for common questions.
My quality approach and working principles
I build my work on understanding the customer need correctly, running the work in a planned and traceable way, and learning and improving after every delivery. My basis is the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Lead Auditor course I took in 2025. This section makes no ISO 9001 certification claim; it only explains how I work.
- Customer focus: clarifying expectations in writing up front and treating feedback as part of the work
- Process approach: running analysis, development, testing and delivery as defined steps
- Risk-based thinking: addressing security and continuity risks at the start of the project
- Continuous improvement: reviewing method and tools at the end of every project
- Openness to learning: picking up new technologies quickly and choosing what fits the project
- Open communication: clarifying scope, process and deliverables from the beginning
